Nigards Glacier

At this point in our trip we had already done the fjord thing and the national park thing, thus it was time for the glacier thing.  Joshua had seen some in New Zealand up close 15 plus years ago and they were a lasting image in his mind.  Nigardsbreen, or ninth glacier (for apparently running over 8 farms before stopping at the 9th in its progression) in Jostedalsbreen National Park is the most accessible to get up close to in Norway.  You have to be older than  our kids to walk on it, so there is always something left on the travel bucket list.

We became celebrities before this family picture when some other tourists asked if they could pose for pictures with Juliet in the backpack.  Then we took the family picture.  Then more tourists asked to join our family picture, some with selfie sticks.  Good times.
