Father's Day

We were traveling back from RI on Father's Day but I managed to snap a few shots of Joshua and the girls toward the end of the day. When we were making his card, I asked Sydney why she loves her Daddy. In one breath she said "because he picks me up and gives me kisses and he plays hide-and--seek with me and he's a good daddy and he gives me special treats and he's silly with me." Kudos to Sydney for producing that list and to Joshua for earning every single one of those accolades!

We came home to a bounty of blueberries!

I asked each of the girls to look at me and say "blueberries." I think I caught Sydney on the "ies" part.

Super Dooper Hiker

It's official. Sydney is a Super Dee Dooper (special deluxe ala Peter T. Hooper) hiker! She completed another 3+ mile hike on her own. This one was more strenuous and was on a regular hiking trail instead of a nice wide carriage trail. She persevered and got the hang of where to place her feet on the trail. The hurricane knocked out the bridge which crossed the stream on this hike so we had to get creative in our crossing strategy. Joshua was equal to the challenge!

Summer hiking season is officially underway for us!

Sadie even got in on the action this time

Sydney did the entire 3+ mile hike on her own including the 1+ mile uphill stretch. My back thanks her (Joshua carried Evelyn). This was our snack break during the uphill stretch.

Visit from Julie

Julie came to visit us at the blue house. She and I took Sydney to her first musical - Seussical! She was mesmerized by the performance and has been singing along to the music from the musical since we came back!
