Spring Break
We went to NY for a house hunting trip during Spring Break. Sydney's Nana and Papa made the trip to LI for a visit. I was going to make a joke about taking a picture of Joshua and Sydney outside our new house...which is actually a mansion on LI. We celebrated St. Patrick's Day while we were there and Sydney's Grandma was a big help when we went on our marathon house hunting trip to New Paltz.

Please...
Sydney has definitely become more verbal in the last couple of months. We do our best to insist that she say "please" when she wants something...somehow she decided that shrugging her shoulders and looking really cute makes it that much more effective. Note: Yes, that is Vanilla Ice playing in the background.

Birthday
Sydney got all dressed up for Joshua's birthday. She also enjoyed the first use of the popcorn maker Joshua got me for Valentine's Day (see video below).

Getting Back on the Blog
We are going to try to post some pictures of Sydney. All I will say as an explanation for the hiatus is the following: I got a job! We sold our house! We are looking at a house in NY! We are preparing for the arrival of a new little Munz sometime around May 20th! And I am trying to get as much of my dissertation finished as possible before the new baby graces us with his/her presence!
Sydney's Nana and Papa sent some tunnel fun to help her burn off some energy during the winter months. Sydney also likes to dress up in her sequin skirt and awesome lady bug rain boots!

MLK
This year we went to Baltimore for our annual MLK, Jr. weekend reunion with Peace Corps friends. The children's museum was a big hit. Tommy showed James Henry the wonders of the telescope.
Maddy G shows off her lawn mowing skills.
Sydney liked the grocery room.
The ball pit was a big hit for big kids and little kids. This photo is not staged - Joshua actually kicked Mike in the head by accident while taking his leg out (I just happened to be taking a photo at that exact moment).
Sydney liked the ball pit but after a while she would sink down and offer up an "Up, please" to get Joshua to pull her back up to the surface.
James Henry peaking out from the balls.
Musicians in pink. And yes, Sydney's hair really is that long!
Kid Yoga. Shown here: The difference between an almost 4 year old and an almost 2 year old.
The deal was, each child would pick an animal out of a box and then everyone would do yoga stretches representing that animal. Sydney chose the cheetah.
The instructor helped her act it out...and then had fun trying to get her to part with it!
Lucy Claire mastering the water works.
The wettest award goes to Manu (no contest really).
Sydney came in a distant second.
The kids vegging out with Rosa at the Walsh residence.
Baby Frank!
The whole gang.
A trip to the park.
Sydney liked the tower.
Madeline getting ready to slide.
All six kids (it was not small feat to find a time when no one was napping!)

Around the House
Joshua discovered a great way to get Sydney to sit still for more than her usual 10 seconds. She likes being wheeled around in her lego wagon. One day, while in it, she decided she wanted her animals to join her. This was followed by several rounds of "more, please" until there was no room left. Next, he sat her on the couch and they did their best recreation of the scene from E.T. Sydney is still doing her best to enjoy the cold weather...with some help from her sleigh master/father.
